Letter from the Author #90: Multiverse of Editions

Dear #XaviVerso fans,

After a few very intense months in my journey through Asia, I am once again writing to you to update you on the main news of the XaviVerso. After a pseudo attempt at a vacation in Thailand in March, I’ve been living in Hanoi, Vietnam, for two and a half months, a place that I’ve turned into my new headquarters, at least for a few more months. Since I arrived, I have not stopped working for a single day, so we are going to review what is most recent and what is to come.

Webnarok

In mid-March, we finally launched the new version of the Mark of Odin website. We did it after many months of delays and having to overcome great handicaps. Since then, the development team and I have continued to work to improve aspects and iron out bugs. To this day it is something that we continue to do together with the XaviVerso website too, to ensure that it offers the best performance and user experience for readers. Those of you who have developed or managed websites know that this is a daily battle that never ends. Damn X-Files that pop up from time to time!

The stone lotus in English

In parallel to the intense technical work with the web pages, these first months I have been focused on completing the production of the English edition of The Stone Lotus. And finally, just last week I was able to publish it both in print and in ebook and audiobook. I am very excited to have managed to take this step, as it is my second book in English after The Awakening and marks the way to publish the rest of the books from XaviVerse to the language of Shakespeare.

With this edition we have been able to gain a lot of experience and improve the translation, editing and production processes for the next re-editions we make.

New Audiobook Editions

One of the aspects in which we are applying the new features are the audiobook editions of my books. With Yes, They Will Pass! we inaugurate our first audiobook with more than one voice. The sixth edition of Mark of Odin: The Road to Valhalla and The Stone Lotus have followed that path by incorporating four different voices. That is why I wanted to make the effort to produce new versions of the audiobooks of The Stone Lotus and Mark of Odin: The Awakening in Spanish that you already have available in your My Library / Downloads section. I encourage you to download them and thus be able to enjoy a much more dynamic and attractive listening experience for when you want to relax listening to their stories or while traveling in the car or doing sports.

An improved Ragnarok

Immediately following is the production of a new paper edition, ebook and audiobook of Mark of Odin: Ragnarok in Spanish. This will follow in the footsteps of the recent reissues of The Awakening and Road to Valhalla, improving cosmetic and stylistic aspects of the book, mainly the dialogues. In the case of the audiobook, you can also expect the incorporation of four voices in the narration.

Production is already underway, so I hope we can share it very soon, before the end of June.

The Dark Hybrid

With the new edition of Mark of Odin: Ragnarok completed and published, I hope we can finally share with registered readers its first bonus chapter, The Dark Hybrid. Yes, I know I haven’t stopped delaying its release, but this is a very special story and I want it to be accompanied by a cover illustration that does it justice. For this I have our art director, Manu Nieto, working on it. Due to the different workloads we both have; it’s proving difficult to speed up production. I apologize for that. I can only assure you that fans of the saga will be surprised and enjoy this chapter a lot and, even, you may die of fear, who knows.

Internationalizing books

After completing the process of reissuing the Mark of Odin books  in Spanish, the next step is to move forward and complete the production of the English editions of Yes, They Will Pass!, Road to Valhalla and Ragnarok. Their translation is underway, at different paces, but my intention is to be able to publish them throughout this year.

In parallel, we are starting the first pre-production tests of editions in additional languages. The idea is to be able to offer the XaviVerso books to readers around the world in their own languages. To this end, we continue to work on expanding a network of collaborators with which to strengthen our position as an independent publisher with the capacity to manage and publish works in many different languages and markets. Who said fear?

Introducing the XaviVers0

As if all of the above were not enough, we continue to devise new ways to reach more readers, either organically or with advertising campaigns. These are complex times in the era of the massification of social networks, which is why our main asset to be able to continue growing is precisely you: Our core of readers and community.

We depend on you to help us make ourselves known with your recommendations. Either to buy the paper or digital collector’s editions in the XaviVerso store or the standard editions on external platforms. Each new reader who arrives, who buys the books, reviews them, shares them, helps us to be able to continue investing in this dream.

Remember, we still have the last copies of the collector’s edition of Yes, They Will Pass! in Spanish. If you have not yet taken the step, seeing the current situation in Spain, I think it is a story more necessary than ever. I encourage you to read it and be surprised.

There are already more than 163,000 readers who have dared to read my books around the world. It is a dizzying figure. This year I’m making a lot of changes in my life. That is one of the reasons why I am speaking to you from Vietnam. But, what does not change, is my commitment to this project, to this dream and, of course, to you, the fans of the XaviVerso.

Finally, as always, I encourage you to join our Discord community, the Telegram channel  and also to add us to your WhatsApp contact list  (Say hello to us on +34 671 48 96 90) and to continue sharing your impressions of the books. Not only in the Reviews section, but also on external platforms such as Amazon, Google Play, Apple, Kobo, Lektu or Goodreads. Having a good rating and opinions there helps us a lot to attract new readers.

Remember, everything is connected.
